1st Vande Bharat Metro Train between Ahmedabad and Bhuj to start on Sep 16

India's Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the first Vande Bharat Metro train service that will run between Ahmedabad and Bhuj on the 16th of September. The train will operate Monday to Saturday, with 12 coaches and a top speed of 110 km/h.

It will depart from Bhuj at 5:05 AM and from Ahmedabad at 5:30 PM. The train can accommodate 1,150 seated and 2,058 standing passengers, with the fare from Ahmedabad to Bhuj set at Rs. 430.

20 hi-tech GSRTC Volvo buses launched from Ahmedabad

On Thursday, the Minister of State for Transport flagged off 20 hi-tech Volvo buses of GSRTC, each featuring advanced safety systems. Eight buses will run on the Nehrunagar-Surat route, eight on the Nehrunagar-Vadodara route, and four on the Ahmedabad-Rajkot route. Fares are Rs. 648 for Nehrunagar to Surat, Rs. 294 for Nehrunagar to Vadodara, and Rs. 519 for Ahmedabad to Rajkot.

These buses are equipped with fire extinguishing systems, comfortable seating, and military-grade safety features. By Diwali, 80 more such buses will be introduced, replacing older vehicles.

Weather update: Amdavadis to experience humidity with generally cloudy skies

The Meteorological Department forecasts generally cloudy skies with light rain for Ahmedabad over the next five days. While no heavy rainfall is expected in Gujarat, isolated areas might experience light showers. Currently, the city is seeing a break from rain, which has led to rising temperatures and increased humidity.

On the 10th of September, Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 32°C, while yesterday's high was 30.7°C, 2°C below normal. The minimum temperature was 26.3°C, 1.4°C above average. Today's maximum is expected to be around 33°C, indicating a warmer day ahead for residents.

Nursing colleges mandated to enhance fire safety within 15 days

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Gujarat Nursing Council (GNC) have instructed nursing colleges to obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the fire department and building use (BU) permission from local authorities within 15 days. This move aligns with the state government's directive to improve fire safety measures in educational institutions across Gujarat.
