Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro service likely to launch on Sept 16

The Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro train service is expected to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 16th of September. During his visit to Gujarat, starting on the 15th of September, the PM is likely to officially launch the 20 km metro route connecting Motera in Ahmedabad to Sector 1 in Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad-Udaipur Express train to be upgraded to superfast status

The Udaipur City-Asarva Express (Train No. 19703/04), which connects Ahmedabad and Udaipur, will be upgraded to a Superfast Express status from January 1, 2025. The train will then operate under new numbers, 20987/88, and will reduce the travel time by 20 minutes, shortening the journey to 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Preparations for Ganeshotsav begin amid rain, authorities urge home immersions

As Ganeshotsav preparations begin across the state, authorities are taking proactive measures due to the ongoing heavy rainfall. With rivers nearing full capacity, officials have launched a social media campaign urging residents to immerse Ganapati idols at home or within their societies. This precaution aims to prevent drowning incidents, which are often reported during the festival.

In addition, there is an increased focus on promoting eco-friendly practices. Authorities are encouraging the use of clay Ganapati idols to reduce water pollution caused by Plaster of Paris (POP) idols.

Junior doctors end strike, services to resume from today
