AMC launches 7 control rooms as part of pre-monsoon plan

In preparation for the monsoon season, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has activated its seven control rooms, one in each zone. Citizens can now lodge complaints about dangerous billboards, dilapidated houses, tree collapses, potholes, road cave-ins, and waterlogging through designated WhatsApp numbers for each zone.

Ahmedabad RTO begins fitness inspection of school vehicles

Ahead of the new academic session, the Ahmedabad Regional Transport Office (RTO) has commenced a comprehensive fitness inspection of all school vehicles, including rickshaws and vans, from Thursday.

This initiative aims to ensure that all vehicles transporting children comply with essential safety norms. Drivers with the necessary documentation will receive fitness certificates, and parents are advised to verify these safety measures.

IMD revises rainfall prediction: First showers expected by Monday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has updated its forecast for the arrival of the monsoon in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and surrounding regions, now predicting the first showers by Monday, June 10. Initially, the IMD had forecasted the monsoon for this Sunday. The entire state is expected to see the onset of the monsoon by June 12.

On Thursday, Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of 28.7°C, 0.6°C above normal. The maximum temperature on Friday is expected to reach 42°C with clear skies.

SVPI Airport upgraded to Level-3 by ACI

Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport has been upgraded to Level-3 accreditation for customer experience by the Airports Council International (ACI).

This recognition comes due to detailed airport management, enhanced customer experience, increased retail and food counters, and the integration of the latest technology for passenger convenience.

Gujarat University to launch over 30 skill-based courses

Gujarat University has announced plans to launch more than 30 skill-based courses aimed at enhancing students' knowledge and employability. The courses will cover a range of topics, including Mudra Therapy, HR Management, GST and Income Tax filing, Stock Market Analysis, Python programming, and Artificial Intelligence. These courses will be available to students from all streams alongside their degree programs.

AMC seals over 150 cafes, restaurants, and food joints

As part of its ongoing drive to enforce fire safety measures and compliance with necessary certificates, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed over 150 cafes, open-air restaurants, and food joints. These establishments were found violating various norms, including fire safety regulations and illegal structures.
