AMC launches plan to tackle parking issues in city

After a prolonged delay, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has rolled out a comprehensive plan to alleviate the city's parking issues by designating specific areas for free parking. Key areas for this initiative include Ashram Road, Sabarmati Powerhouse Road, and the 132 Feet Ring Road.

GU introduces 'Department of Foreign Languages', admission begins 

The demand for foreign language experts in Gujarat, including those proficient in Chinese, French, Spanish, Japanese, and German, is on the rise. In response, the School of International Studies and Diaspora at Gujarat University has established a 'Department of Foreign Languages (DFL)' for the current year.

This department offers training through graduate, post-graduate, certificate, and post-graduate diploma courses. Interested students can register on the GICAS portal and complete the admission process at Gujarat University by July 31st.

Ahmedabad experiences light drizzle with cooler temperatures

On Friday, Ahmedabad experienced only a slight drizzle, with an average rainfall of 1mm, despite the day being overcast. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts light to moderate rain for the city on Saturday.

The maximum temperature recorded on Friday was 30.6°C, which is 1.4°C below the normal range.

YMCA Club introduces skill development courses

The Ahmedabad YMCA Club has launched various Y.M.C.A international center certificate courses to enhance participants' skills. The courses include a fitness training program for those with at least a 10th-grade education and one year of experience in fitness. There is also a lifeguard training course for individuals with swimming skills and a 10th-grade education.

Additionally, a community sports coaching course is available for those with a similar educational background and one to two years of coaching experience. All courses span 3 months and can lead to employment in health clubs, sports clubs, gyms, hospitals, resorts, schools, and universities.

Singapore Airlines to start a daily flight between Singapore and Ahmedabad

Singapore Airlines is set to increase its connectivity between Singapore and Ahmedabad by introducing daily flights starting from September 1, 2024, subject to regulatory approval. Currently, the airline operates five weekly flights using the Airbus A350-900.

The new daily service will utilize an Airbus A350 with 40 business class seats and 263 economy class seats.
