Increase in female enrollment at Gujarat public universities this year

Data from the Gujarat Common Admission System (GCAS) indicates a significant shift in gender ratio for this year's admissions to public universities. Out of 176,393 students who confirmed their enrollment by the end of the second admission round, 90,369 (51.23%) were girls, surpassing the 86,022 (48.76%) boys.

This change highlights an increasing inclination among girls in Gujarat towards higher education.

Rath Yatra concludes smoothly with a large gathering of devotees

The 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath concluded in Ahmedabad on Sunday evening, drawing lakhs of devotees who lined the route to offer prayers amid tight security. The three chariots returned to the temple by 9:15 PM after passing through several localities, including the Old City and some communally sensitive areas.

IMD forecast: No heavy rainfall expected for the next 2 days

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad and the surrounding regions are unlikely to experience heavy rainfall over the next few days due to the lack of any significant weather systems.

Sunday's weather report predicted potential heavy rain in isolated areas such as Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Surat, Navsari, and Valsad on Tuesday, while other parts of South Gujarat are expected to see only light rain.

NH48 project slated for completion by April 30, 2025

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that the NH48 project, which includes the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, is slated for completion by April 30, 2025. However, safety concerns have emerged due to the increased road height by 1.5 feet from the white topping process, without corresponding adjustments to the height of safety barriers.
