Ahmedabad experienced significant rainfall and dark cloud cover early this morning, with the city receiving up to 1.5 inches of rainfall between 6 am and 10 am. The Jodhpur Zonal area in the city's southwest recorded the highest rainfall. Areas such as SG Highway, Shivaranjani, Gota, Ranip, Prahladnagar, Nehrunagar, and Chandlodia experienced moderate rainfall, while Naroda, Bapunagar, and Nikol saw torrential downpours. The weather has turned cooler as a result.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has granted permission for the reopening of around 25 miniplexes in Ahmedabad, previously sealed due to violations, including the absence of a valid fire NOC and Building Use (BU) permission.
The multiplexes were allowed to reopen on July 28, 2024, after operators provided a written bond. They are required to obtain the fire NOC within a month and the BU permission within three months.
