The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a week of rainfall for Ahmedabad, with light to moderate showers expected. On August 1, the city is likely to experience a generally cloudy sky with light rain, and temperatures ranging from 26°C to 28°C.

From August 2-3, moderate rain is anticipated, with consistent temperatures. The city may see rain or thundershowers on August 4 and 5.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed five food stalls at Kankaria Lakefront following incidents of food contamination, including a customer finding insects in tomato sauce. AMC's food department has been actively inspecting both large and small eateries to ensure food safety standards are met.

Ahmedabad Airport has experienced a significant increase in international passenger traffic, particularly during the summer vacation period. Between April and June 2024, 533,067 international passengers travelled through the airport, compared to 432,762 in the same period last year, marking a 23% increase.

Meanwhile, domestic passenger traffic saw a slight rise, with 25,92,318 passengers recorded this year, up from 24,90,646 last year, representing a 4% growth.

The District Education Officer (DEO) of Ahmedabad has issued notices to 35 schools for not registering female students for the Namo Lakshmi Scholarship Scheme. School administrators have been summoned to the DEO's office to provide explanations for the oversight.

Vietjet Air has announced the launch of a new direct flight service between Ahmedabad and Da Nang. The new route was revealed on Wednesday, though the specific frequency of the flights has not yet been disclosed.

This development was highlighted during a forum organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and the Vietnamese Embassy in India. The event also saw the signing of 9 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at boosting trade and investment between India and Vietnam.
