City Police intensify crackdown on wrong-side driving, 900 FIRs in 4 days

Beginning on June 22nd, the City Police launched a month-long rigorous campaign against wrong-side driving, resulting in 900 FIRs within just 4 days. Those charged must secure bail to be released from custody under Sections 184 and 279 of the Motor Vehicles Act for rash driving and endangering the safety of others on the road.

The campaign is set to intensify in the coming days to completely curb wrong-side driving.

Measures implemented to reduce bird strikes at SVPI Airport

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, the city’s busiest, has the highest incidence of bird strikes in the state. Bird watchers and scarers are deployed, and anti-perching devices have been installed. Regular inspections and bird movement monitoring are also in place.
