'No Parking' zones announced for Rath Yatra

On the occasion of the Rath Yatra, roads in several areas of Ahmedabad have been declared 'No Parking' zones from July 6 to July 7, 2024. The affected routes include Jagannath Mandir outside Jamalpur Darwaza to Jamalpur Chakla, passing through key areas such as Khamasa, Astodia Chakla, Khadia, Kalupur Circle, Saraspur, Shahpur, and others.

This notification will be effective from midnight on July 6 until the completion of the Rath Yatra on July 7, 2024, under Section-33 of the Gujarat Police Act, 1951.

Security measures heightened for 147th Rath Yatra

As Ahmedabad prepares for the 147th annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath on July 7, an extensive security detail comprising over 23,000 personnel and 20 drones has been arranged to ensure the event's safety. The security setup includes drones and balloon-mounted cameras.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train to begin operations in Gujarat by 2027

The first phase of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is expected to be operational in Gujarat by the end of 2027, according to the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL).

The project, which will eventually extend to Maharashtra, is progressing more quickly in Gujarat. Trial runs are scheduled to begin in 2026 on a 50-kilometer stretch between Surat and Bilimora.

Light rains in Ahmedabad, no heavy rainfall expected

Ahmedabad has been experiencing light to heavy rains over the past 5 days, but no significant heavy rainfall is expected in the next 3 days due to a weakening weather system. In the last 24 hours, only scattered showers were recorded.

On Thursday, the city saw a maximum temperature of 35°C and a minimum of 27.7°C. The Meteorological Department predicts continued scattered showers over the next few days.
