CCTV cameras to use AI for better surveillance 

Ahmedabad has embraced Artificial Intelligence to enhance its surveillance capabilities. Currently, 6000 CCTV cameras in the city have been integrated with AI, with additional installations in progress.

This integration allows the cameras to identify the faces of the individuals violating 32 offenses throughout the city. Beyond law enforcement, the AI-powered cameras will monitor road conditions and street lighting, facilitating the issuance of e-challans.

High surge in Ahmedabad-Ayodhya flight rates

Flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya have been introduced for the first time. However, soaring demand has led to a significant surge in flight rates, reaching up to five times the usual fare.

Additional arrangements, including three trains departing from Ahmedabad on February 10 for Ayodhya also aim to accommodate the influx of travelers.

Cab Taxi and Rickshaw Association halted operations

On Monday, the Cab Taxi and Rickshaw Association in Ahmedabad ceased operations following a disagreement with authorities over the relocation of parking facilities from the domestic to the international terminal at Ahmedabad Airport.

This abrupt stoppage left arriving air passengers stranded without access to taxis and rickshaws.

Removal drive of stalls at Khau Gali near LD College

A longstanding fixture in the city, the street food stalls near LD College, popularly known as Khau Gali, faced removal due to operating without legal permissions.

The Gujarat University estate department with the AMC, initiated a drive to remove these roadside eateries. Despite opposition from stall owners, who were given until Monday evening to relocate, the confiscation drive proceeded as no action was taken.

Auction of plots ahead of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024

In preparation for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, Ahmedabad civic bodies announced the auction of 21 plots. Eight plots belong to the AMC, 11 to Auda, and the remaining two to SRFDCL. AMC approval paves the way for the sale of eight plots, with six earmarked for commercial use and two for residential purposes.

Shivalik Group is set to unveil 1,000 homes across four projects in Ahmedabad this festive season. Shivalik Parkview 2 in Shela, Shivalik Edge on Ambli-Bopal Road, Shivalik Platinum on Judges Bungalow Road, and Shivalik Enclave in Shahibaug have all received BU permissions and earned certification as green and sustainable by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). The handover process for these environmentally conscious homes is poised to begin soon.
