Traffic restrictions issued for September 16

The City Traffic Police have announced significant traffic restrictions on the 16th of September due to the Milad Julus procession. Starting at 2:00 PM from Jamalpur Darwaza, the procession will impact several major areas in the city, leading to the following traffic closures:

Jamalpur Area: Traffic will be restricted from Jamalpur to Khamasa via the four roads.

Raikhad to Gol Leemda: Road access will be closed.

Pankor Nonka to Lal Darwaza: This route will be blocked for vehicles.

Vijlighar to Lal Darwaza via Ghi-Kanta Char Road: Traffic will be halted in this area as well.

Commuters are advised to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes during the procession.

Metro timings for Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar route announced

The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has announced the schedule for the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar metro route, which is set to be launched today. The service timings are as follows:

Motera Stadium to Sector 1: Metro services will operate from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Sector 1 to Motera: Services will start at 7:20 AM and end at 6:40 PM.

GNLU to GIFT City: Trains will run from 8:20 AM to 6:25 PM, with return services from GIFT City beginning at 7:18 AM and concluding at 6:38 PM.

Hatkeshwar Bridge to be rebuilt 7 years after its construction

The Hatkeshwar Bridge in Ahmedabad, originally built in 2017 at a cost of Rs 42 crore, is set to undergo reconstruction just seven years later due to structural issues. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued a new tender, valuing the project at Rs 52 crore.

This marks the fourth tender for the reconstruction effort. The cost will be recovered from the same company that constructed the bridge in 2017. The AMC has set a 15-day deadline to complete the tender process and expects the new bridge to be ready within the next 18 months.

'No Drone Fly Zone' enforced in the entire city

In preparation for the Prime Minister’s visit to Ahmedabad from the 15th to the 17th of September, the city police have imposed a 'No-drone fly zone' across the entire city.

As per a notification issued by Police Commissioner GS Malik, the use of drones, quadcopters, powered aircraft, manned microlight aircraft, hang gliders, paragliders, paramotors, hot air balloons, and para jumping will be prohibited during this period.
