Today, August 9, Western Railway conducted the trial run of the country’s first 20-coach Vande Bharat train, which will operate between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The trial began at Ahmedabad’s Kalupur Railway Station, showcasing the new saffron-coloured Vande Bharat train operating at an impressive speed of 130 km/h.

Ahmedabad to Mumbai in just 4.5 hours!
The existing 16-coach Vande Bharat trains have been running at a speed of 100 km/h, completing the journey from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in approximately 5.5 hours.
The newly introduced 20-coach train promises to shorten travel time by one hour, reducing the journey to just 4.5 hours by running at an impressive speed of 130 km/h.
Catering to increased demand for Vande Bharat trains
In response to the increasing passenger traffic and positive feedback, Western Railway decided to introduce this enhanced Vande Bharat Express to better serve the Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Surat-Mumbai route.
Additional safety measures, including the deployment of RPF personnel at railway crossings and stations, have been put in place to ensure smooth operations and emergency preparedness.
