The biggest rivalry in the game of cricket might just be coming to the world's largest cricket stadium as part of the Cricket World Cup 2023. Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi stadium has emerged as the favorite to host the IND vs PAK game in this year's ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to kick off on October 5, 2023.

World Cup Final will also be held in Ahmedabad 

It must be noted that Kolkata's Eden Gardens, one of the most iconic stadiums in the world, is also being considered to host the India vs Pakistan game. But Ahmedabad's Motera stadium, with a seating capacity of up to 1 lakh people, is the front-runner to host another episode of the India-Pakistan cricketing rivalry.

BCCI to upgrade stadiums with funds of up to ₹500 crore

Furthermore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set out funds of ₹500 crore to upgrade the stadiums that will be playing host to world cup matches in India.

It is noteworthy that Nagpur, Bengaluru, Trivandrum, Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Dharamshala, Indore, Hyderabad, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Kolkata have been shortlisted as venues to host world cup games.
