It is expected to be rolled out within the next five years, aiming to make weather information more accessible across the country.

Satellite-based toll collection to start on highways by 2025

The government is set to roll out satellite-based toll collection on highways using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology. By April 2025, the first phase will cover 2,000 km of the national highway network.

Initially, the system will apply only to commercial vehicles equipped with vehicle location tracking devices.

Delhi govt proposes to waive 50% fine on traffic challans with 90-day deadline

The Delhi government has introduced an initiative offering a 50% waiver on traffic fines, but with a condition: fines must be settled within 90 days for existing offences. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot announced that the waiver will apply to fines issued under certain sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.

This proposal is awaiting approval from Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and aims to reduce the backlog of unpaid fines.
