At the Ahmedabad Sabarmati Riverfront, tourists can now sail through in a restaurant cruise called Akshar River Cruise. The boat was virtually inaugurated on July 2 by Union Home Minister, Amit Shah.

Equipped with modern facilities, the cruise is a joint venture between Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Akshar Travels and Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation.

All about the new attraction at Sabarmati River

In a 90 minute long journey, the boat will take 125 to 150 people from Atal Bridge to Dadhichi Bridge and back, while they relish exquisite food and enjoy a breath-taking panoramic view. An in-house DJ will be present aboard to play music too. Per person charge for veg-lunch is ₹1,800 and ₹2,000 for veg-dinner.

Keeping in mind the safety of people aboard, the management has deployed CCTV cameras, a fire sprinkler system, 180 life saving jackets and emergency rescue boats.

The 30m long, luxurious cruise will help boost tourism in Ahmedabad and promises to be a new attraction for Sabarmati River.
