The state transport corporation of Gujarat has taken steps to enhance connectivity between Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and GIFT City by introducing a new electric bus service. This service comprises 3 e-buses that operate on several routes, connecting various locations within Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar to GIFT City.

The commencement of the new service is in response to the increasing demand of commuters traveling between Ahmedabad and neighboring cities. This new service is expected to benefit a significant number of people, including approximately 20,000 employees who work at GIFT-IFSC.

More about GSRTC's new e-bus service

Until now a total of four buses were operational on three of the intercity routes, i.e. Narol to GIFT City, Shantipura-SC Highway to GIFT City and Gandhinagar PathikAshram to GIFT City.

To cater to the increasing demand for public transportation and to facilitate better connectivity with major transit points in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, three new routes have been planned. The routes have been designed based on factors such as office timings and expected footfall.

Furthermore, with a motive to streamline connectivity between both the neighbouring cities the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Phase II is also under construction, for which the trials are set to commence soon.
