BRTS and AMTS routes diverted due to Kalupur Railway Station renovation

Due to ongoing renovation work at Kalupur railway station, Ahmedabad’s traffic police have introduced diversions for BRTS and AMTS buses. Seven BRTS routes have been modified, and two, Routes No. 201 and No. 18, have been permanently closed. These changes, already in effect, affect routes from areas like Rakhiyal and Naroda.

In addition, 161 AMTS bus routes passing through the Kalupur station area have been rerouted to mitigate traffic congestion and facilitate smoother commuting.

Security tightened for PM’s visit to Ahmedabad

In anticipation of Prime Minister’s visit to Ahmedabad on the 16th and 17th of September, combined with two major festivals, the city police have implemented heightened security measures. A total of 12,000 police personnels have been deployed across key areas of the city.

With the SRP forces assigned to election duties elsewhere, four DCPs and four ASPs have been brought in to ensure security and maintain order during the events.

New gardens opened by AMC in New Naroda

The Garden Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has inaugurated two new gardens in New Naroda, aiming to increase green spaces and improve air quality. Located near Banasiya Residency and South International School, the gardens feature large trees, plants, sports equipment, and walking tracks for recreational activities.

These additions bring the total number of public gardens in the city to 296, furthering AMC's efforts toward a greener and healthier urban environment.

Metro phase-2 inauguration to connect Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar

On the 16th of September, PM will inaugurate a 21 km stretch of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase-2, connecting the city to Gandhinagar. The newly operational route includes key stations such as GNLU, PDPU, and Gift City.

Passengers traveling from Vasna APMC to Sector 1 can complete the 65-minute journey for ₹35. While seven stations will open immediately, construction at other stations along the route is still underway.

Four six-lane overbridges to be built in the city

Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for four six-lane overbridges at Bakarol, Panjarapol, Ramol, and Hathijan junctions in Ahmedabad on September 16. These overbridges, each 27 meters wide, aim to ease traffic flow for over 75,000 vehicles daily.

The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) is overseeing the ₹391 crore project, which will significantly reduce congestion at these busy intersections.
