Gujarat to see heavy rains, Ahmedabad's dry spell continues

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted widespread rains across Gujarat in the week starting July 22 yet Ahmedabad remains left out. So far, the state has received 38% of its seasonal rainfall.

However, Amdavadis will still have to wait longer for rain. The IMD's bulletin also indicated above-normal temperatures for the city, with high humidity and temperatures reaching 33.8°C and 27.6°C, both 1.7°C higher than normal.

AB Plus health lounge opens at SVPI Airport

Asian Bariatric Plus Specialty Hospital (AB Plus) has launched a new health lounge at Terminal 1 of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport. The AB Plus Health Lounge offers passengers a detailed, non-invasive full-body health scan in just 10 minutes, utilizing their waiting time efficiently.

Focused on predictive and preventive medicine, the lounge has successfully tested 1,200 patients over the past 2 months.

Delays at city RTO due to e-memo issues

Applicants at Ahmedabad's RTO offices are experiencing delays due to e-memos often being marked as pending on the RTO portal, even after payments are made. Approximately 70% of vehicle owners are facing this issue, causing frustration and preventing the completion of vehicle-related services.

The problem arises when an e-challan issued against a vehicle remains pending on the portal despite payment in the virtual court.

Gujarat Government to offer additional subsidy for solar rooftop installations

The Gujarat Government is planning to introduce an additional 15% subsidy for new residential solar rooftop installations. This subsidy will be in addition to the existing 30% discount provided by the central government. The initiative is part of the state's mission to fully transition to green energy.
