Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit a Smart School at Vastrapur Sarkari Vasahat in Ahmedabad on June 21. This visit marks the launch of the Smart School conversion initiative for 30 primary schools managed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
Additionally, Shah will inaugurate the newly converted Smart School at Naranpura Gam, named Naranpura Anupam. Both events are scheduled to take place after 3:30 PM.
Residents living near Memnagar Lake are increasingly concerned about the pollution in the lake. Despite numerous complaints to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the Gujarat Pollution Control Board, and the Central Pollution Control Board, no action has been taken. With the monsoon approaching, residents fear an outbreak of water-borne diseases due to the lake's contamination with sewage and garbage.
Starting July 1, 2024, the Ahmedabad Division will resume regular operations of 19 Passenger/DEMU/MEMU trains that were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Railway Administration has announced that these trains, which were previously running as special trains with temporary numbers, will now operate with their regular numbers. This move marks a return to pre-pandemic train services.
