AMC plans Food Court at Vastrapur Lake

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced plans to transform the unused amphitheater at Vastrapur Lake-Garden into a new food court. The new development will feature around 55 food stalls, which will be leased out through a tender process.

The project will include the construction of an RCC beam grid structure along the walkways and enhanced glazing. The overall redevelopment of the lake and the food court is expected to cost an additional ₹7 cr.

Weather update: Light showers predicted today

Ahmedabad recorded 12mm of rainfall by 8 PM on Friday, with the heaviest showers occurring between 4 PM and 6 PM. The city has received 52% of its average seasonal rainfall so far.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate showers are expected on Saturday as well.

Airport security awareness drive at Ahmedabad Airport

As part of the ‘Aviation Security Culture Week’ from August 5 to 11, Ahmedabad Airport is hosting several programs aimed at raising awareness about airport and runway security.

Central security agencies and airport staff will visit nearby residential areas this weekend to educate locals on the importance of maintaining strict security protocols at the airport.

Ahmedabad-Tiruchi Special train extended until December

The Western Railway has extended the operation of the Ahmedabad-Tiruchi Weekly Special train until the end of December. The train will continue to run as per its existing schedule, departing from Ahmedabad on Thursdays and from Tiruchi on Sundays.

Silent protest against poor road conditions on Mumbai-A'bad Highway

A silent human chain rally is scheduled for Sunday on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway in Vasai to protest against the poor condition of the road, which has been under construction since December last year.

The NH-48 Action Council, formed to address these issues, is organizing the rally to draw attention to the dangerous potholes and delays in roadwork.
