3 new routes for AMTS Double Decker buses opened

Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has expanded its services with the introduction of three new routes for double-decker AC electric buses within the city. The newly launched routes include Laldarwaja to Shilaj, Naroda to Lambha circle, and Sarangpur to Singarwa. These additions aim to improve connectivity and cater to the increasing demand for public transportation.

With the launch on Wednesday, these buses are now operational, and plans are underway to introduce three more routes soon.

Use of E-Rickshaws for waste collection

Addressing the need for efficient waste management, Ahmedabad is set to implement an initiative of employing e-rickshaws for waste collection from chalis and pols. A proposal presented in Standing Committee meeting outlines the deployment of 1450 vehicles equipped with GPS systems for door-to-door waste collection across all seven zones of the city.

Notably, e-rickshaws will play a pivotal role in waste collection, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to urban sanitation.

Inaugration of Mumatpura Underpass on SP Ring Road

In a bid to alleviate the growing traffic congestion, significant infrastructure projects are underway. Today marks the inauguration of the underpass at Mumatpura Underpass on SP Ring Road, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 18 crore.

Additionally, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the overbridge from Panjarapol to CN Vidyalaya is scheduled. Furthermore, the inauguration of 1800 Low-Income Group (LIG) houses in Gota, Thaltej, and Hebatpur areas will contribute to enhancing residential infrastructure.
