During a virtual event on Monday, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for two significant infrastructure projects in Ahmedabad. The first is a six-lane elevated corridor connecting Nikol to Sarkhej, enhancing connectivity to Juhapura and Sarkhej. The second project involves an eight-lane bridge set to replace the existing Shashtri bridge near Vishala.
The combined cost of these projects is Rs 1295 crore. The aim is to alleviate traffic congestion and improve transportation at these critical points.
In a bid to enhance passenger experience, AMTS (Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service) bus stops will soon be equipped with LED displays. Similar to the BRTS system, these displays will show the arrival time of buses at respective stands, providing commuters with accurate and real-time information.
Proposals have been invited from various companies, and the Municipal Transport Service will decide on the suitable proposal after careful consideration in the transport committee.
