Water sports and boating activities at Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Riverfront have been suspended for three months following the boating accident in Motnath Lake, Vadodara. Despite the ongoing vacation season, these activities remain unavailable, disappointing many eager visitors. Authorities have yet to announce when the riverfront attractions will reopen.

On Thursday, Ahmedabad and Deesa recorded the highest temperatures in Gujarat at 43.6°C. Gandhinagar was close behind at 43.5°C. Here the maximum temperature was 1.6 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 29.5°C, two degrees higher than average.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a maximum temperature of around 43°C for Friday.

Students from Gujarat University's Department of Animation held a protest rally on Thursday, demanding better basic facilities. Approximately 70 students marched to the Vice Chancellor’s office, citing a lack of a fully equipped laboratory, clean washrooms, air conditioning in classrooms, and sufficient teaching and placement services.
