Traffic advisory during Cricket Matches issued

To manage the traffic and crowds during the cricket matches, the Ahmedabad traffic police will implement road closures and alternative routes within the city. The road from Janpath to Motera will be completely closed to vehicular traffic from 2 pm to 12 pm on match days, allowing pedestrians to utilize this route.

If you need to travel to the stadium area, you can opt for the alternative route from Krupa Residency and Sharanam four roads through Bhat Koteshwar road. These measures aim to minimize inconvenience for the public during the event.

World Space Week celebrations commence

This week marks the beginning of World Space Week, and in honor of this occasion, GUJCOST, recognized as a "Space Tutor" by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), is organizing a series of outreach programs for school and college students across the state.

Running from October 4 to 10, these activities will encompass a wide range of space-related topics, engaging students, children, teachers, media representatives, and the general public across the nation.

Strict NaMo Stadium entry rule: Physical tickets mandatory

To gain entry into the Narendra Modi Stadium during the World Cup matches, attendees who have purchased online tickets must collect physical tickets. Two designated collection points have been set up, namely Jalsa Banquet at 4D Square Mall on Gandhinagar Highway and Navrangpura Sardar Patel Stadium. Physical ticket collection will be available for three days only, specifically on October 3, 4, and 5.

Ticket collection is on now, with operating hours from 10 am to 5 pm. Please note that entry to the stadium will not be permitted without a physical ticket.

City community halls gear up to accommodate World Cup attendees

The hospitality industry of the city, including hotels, homestays, and even hospitals, has been quick to capitalize on the cricket fervor. Now, city community halls are also making preparations to accommodate the influx of cricket fans and tap into this opportunity. Notable venues like Tera Panth Community Hall in Shahibaug and Oswal Bhavan are examples of this trend.

According to estimates provided by the Federation of Hotels and Restaurants' Association (FHRA) in Gujarat, Ahmedabad is expecting a substantial surge of 30,000 to 40,000 visitors, including both Indians and foreigners, for this cricket event.

Convenient Metro transportation for World Cup Matches

In light of the World Cup Cricket Matches, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited will operate metro trains from 6:20 am to 1 am on match days. Exits at other metro stations will become available from 10 pm onwards. The metro system offers the most convenient transportation option to reach the stadium, with a fixed fare of Rs. 50 for paper tickets.

A dedicated counter for paper ticket purchases will be set up at the Motera Stadium station to facilitate quick boarding and return trips for attendees.
