Sarangpur and Kalupur bridges to be rebuilt as part of redevelopment project

Ahmedabad's 83-year-old Sarangpur and 108-year-old Kalupur bridges will be demolished and replaced with new four-lane bridges as part of a redevelopment project. The Railway Land Development Authority will oversee construction, with Sarangpur Bridge expected to be completed first.

The total cost is Rs. 226.48 crore for Sarangpur and Rs. 213.33 crore for Kalupur, with expenses shared equally between the Railways and the Municipal Corporation. A 10-meter-high elevated road will connect the two bridges, ensuring traffic-free access to Kalupur station. Completion is expected within 2.5 to 3 years.
