Schools to remain closed on Tuesday

All schools in Ahmedabad city and district will remain closed today, Tuesday, 27th of August, following an official announcement from the district administration. Primary schools across the state are also shut. Authorities warn that if the monsoon conditions persist, closures may extend further.

Zomato has launched a new feature allowing customers in Ahmedabad and other major cities to schedule food orders up to two days in advance. This service is currently available for orders above ₹1,000, enhancing convenience across 13,000 outlets in cities like Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur.

Torrential rains disrupt travel across Gujarat

Heavy rains have severely impacted travel in Gujarat, leading to the closure of 22 state highways and affecting three train services. Additionally, 64 state bus routes and 583 trips have been cancelled, particularly in Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Anand, Kheda, Surat, and Valsad. Overall, 636 roads, including a national highway, have been shut across the state.
