Comprehensive infrastructural revamp underway at Ahmedabad's SVPI Airport

With the objective to improve airport facilities and amenities to cater to rapidly growing passenger traffic, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad is currently undergoing major upgrades.

As part of the current renovation initiative, the SVPI Airport is set to undergo significant improvements to its infrastructure, in addition to the enhancement of its security amenities to better serve the passengers.

What are the expansion plans for SVPI Airport Ahmedabad?

Reportedly, the passenger traffic at the SVPI Airport has crossed the 10 million mark, thus, the facility has also experienced an increase in aircraft movement.

Under the ongoing augmentation process, the terminal will be expanded by an extra 11,000 square meters, thereby accommodating additional amenities that include an upgraded smoking lounge, a more diverse selection of food and beverage options, branded retail outlets from both local and international brands, a dedicated baby care facility as well as an expanded seating area that meets global standards.

Once operational, the re-engineered facility at the SVPI airport in Ahmedabad, will help bolster security measures, enhance connectivity and provide better amenities for passengers.
