Knocksense Shorts | Gujarat's bid for Olympics 2036 gains momentum

Putting forth the proposal, and forming Gujarat Olympics Planning and Infrastructure Corporation Ltd, the state prepares for a significant bid.

Zeal Jani

In its pursuit to bid for the forthcoming Olympics 2036, the Gujarat Government is set to initiate the groundwork by preparing Expressions of Interest (EoI) – a compelling presentation to the International Olympics Association that underlines Ahmedabad's potential.

The EoI will prominently feature the existing and prospective infrastructure capabilities within Ahmedabad and the state, emphasizing the city's readiness to host the prestigious event. The Chief Minister emphasized that an Indian Olympics would not only catalyze economic growth in Gujarat but also bring about nationwide prosperity.

To steer the course towards 2036, the state has established a Special Purpose Vehicle named "Gujarat Olympics Planning and Infrastructure Corporation Ltd," entrusted with the task of orchestrating the development of the Sardar Patel Sports Enclave and other requisite facilities for the games.
