Knocksense Shorts | IMD predicts thunderstorms and rain in Ahmedabad this week

Zeal Jani

Following a period of heavy rain last week, Ahmedabad is currently experiencing a short break from the monsoons. After a few days of below-average maximum daily temperatures, the mercury climbed to 35°C. However, indications suggest that the city might encounter thunderstorms starting today.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, light thunderstorms accompanied by rain are expected throughout the week, commencing today. Other cities such as Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath could witness substantial rainfall.

The precipitation can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation over southern Uttar Pradesh and a trough extending from South Gujarat to Madhya Pradesh.
