As the world's largest private educational testing and measurement organisation, Educational Testing Service (ETS) builds assessments based on rigorous research. They conduct the Test on English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for students who wish to study abroad, and has many centres across India. The company is now planning to expand its presence in Gujarat, from 10 to 17 cities including Mehsana, Rajkot and Surat.
As per officials, around 7.5 lakh students from India went to study abroad last year and 1.50 of them were from Gujarat, almost 20%. India is home to a total of 70 ETS centres in 38 cities and 10 of these centres are placed in Gujarat. Further realising the potential of the largest state, the company is adding 7 more in Mehsana, Rajkot, Surat, Ahmedabad, Anand and Vadodara.
