Ahmedabad, known for its affordability among India’s top seven cities, has seen a drastic rise in housing prices, according to the latest ANAROCK and CREDAI Ahmedabad Report. From 2018 to mid-2024, real estate prices have surged by 49%, with a 16% increase just in the past year.

Reasons for Ahmedabad's real estate price surge

This surge is driven by robust industrial and infrastructure growth, favourable government policies, and a post-pandemic economic recovery. Additionally, the city's expanding opportunities have attracted more young professionals, contributing to increased demand for housing. As a result, the proportion of affordable housing has fallen from 54% in 2018 to 28% in early 2024, while mid-end projects have become more prevalent.

Dhruv Patel, President of CREDAI Ahmedabad, notes that prices have escalated from ₹3,975 to ₹5,925 per square foot. Experts attribute this trend to the city’s economic growth, which has boosted investments and drawn a younger, more dynamic population.
