In a momentous move for Gujarat, Ahmedabad will soon be home to what is touted to be India's largest shopping mall. This will be the third LuLu mall in the country. While the news has been making rounds in the last few months, here's why it is a big deal.
The ongoing 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar, which will conclude today, is hosting some 34 partner countries, and 16 partner organisations, including a group of prominent personalities from across the globe. Herein, the chairman of UAE-based retail conglomerate, Lulu Group International, expressed interest in mounting up investments in the country. Now, this also incorporates setting up towering malls in Ahmedabad and Chennai.
Budgeted at an estimated cost of ₹4,000 crore, the construction of Ahmedabad's LuLu Mall is scheduled to begin in 2024. Not only will a fleet of 300 national and international brands embellish the grand shopping mall, but it will also house a humongous amusement centre and a food court that could accommodate 3,000 people.
