As Ahmedabad continues to cement its position as a top industrial hub in India, the city's airport is set for another expansion. The CEO of Adani Airports Ltd, the company that manages Ahmedabad airport, has said that plans are underway to build another terminal at SVPIA, which will be its third.

Ahmedabad airport is one of the busiest in India

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport in Ahmedabad is among the busiest airports in India, which catered to over 10 million passengers in the last fiscal year. But the airport authorities want to further expand the airport and increase its capacity by another 50%, taking it to around 15 million passengers per annum.

In view of such ambitions, the two existing T1 and T2 terminals at SVPI airport in Ahmedabad, are already being expanded. With the plans to add another terminal at the airport, along with upgrades such as larger security hold areas at existing ones, Ahmedabad airport is sure to cope with the increasing to and fro of passengers.
