In a bid to foster Goa's healthcare system, the department head of Goa Medical College (GMC) and the directorate of health services recently met at the Valpoi health centre to discuss a collaboration aimed at developing the healthcare services in the state. Reportedly, the Valpoi CHC is pegged to be the pilot project for this ambitious collaboration.
While talking to the reporters, Goa’s health minister notified residents that, once the pilot project successfully takes off from CHC Valpoi, the authorities plan to implement it throughout Goa. Notably, this model will cater to both consultations with specialists as well as a therapeutic intervention, giving the common man an opportunity to get consultation and medical assistance from the state’s best doctors.
At first the programme will be executed in Valpoi CHC (Common Health Centre), where the doctor from GMC will make visit for consultation and diagonostic purposes. As per the report, patients who require further intervention will be directed to GMC.
The move is aimed at improving the healthcare system of Goa, both institutions will collaborate to provide a robust and integrated healthcare model by utilising resources and assistance in hand.
