If you think that Goa is just known for its golden sand beaches, you are here for a surprise. There are a lot more attractions in Goa that are known to very few people. One of them is Kesarval Falls which is located just 19.7 km from Panjim. The Kesarval falls in Goa is known for its medicinal properties as well as its picturesque landscape.
The pristine water and the lush verdant rolling slopes make it a sight to behold. As per the legends, the waterfall is purported to heal several types of skin and eye diseases.
Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Kesarval Falls is the place to be if you wish to heal your inner self. The medicinal properties of the spring are the result of several minerals that have been collected in the spring for eternity.
However, for a very long time, the waterfall has been neglected by the state tourism dept. Better late than never, the Goa Tourism Department recently announced a facelift project for the Kesarval Falls. Reportedly, the project is aimed at attracting more tourists to the state and rejuvenating such unexplored locations.
The project is taken up under the statewide Waterfall Rejuvenation Project. As per the officials, bio-toilets along with security solutions will be installed at these selected waterfalls.
Apart from being a beautiful and picturesque site, the Kesarval Waterfall is located near several historical locations like the Mormugao Fort, which is just 16 km from the location. Apart from this, Dabolim Airport (Airport in Goa) is also nearby, being just 11 km away.
Well, the waterfall is quite easily accessible since it is just 19 km and 11km from Panjim and Dabolim Airport respectively. However, one will have to hike for a few kilometres to reach the spring.
