Continuing its effort to keep control on the COVID situation in Goa, the state government has denied permission to the organisers of Sunburn to conduct the music festival this year. However, the tickets for the three-day event scheduled to take place from December 27 to December 29 are still available online. Notably, since the onset of the pandemic last year, this is the second consecutive year when Sunburn stands cancelled.

In a bid to keep control over the COVID cases in the state, the administration has decided to refuse the proposal of holding a music festival this year. In a press conference held today, the Chief Minister of the coastal state said, "We have not given permission to Sunburn to hold the festival this year. I have already passed the file stating this."
Notably, Asia's biggest music festival premiering the best of Electric Dance Music (EDM) sees music lovers from all across the globe, every year. This comes as a shock to all the music lovers as the pre-tickets of the upcoming Sunburn festival was sold out while early bird tickets were also selling out fast. While the administration has issued a statement, the organisers of Sunburn are yet to officially announce the same.
