Fearing a revival of inflated infection tallies in the state, the Goa government has announced an extension of the ongoing curfew restrictions. The statewide restraints will now be continued till 7 AM on June 14, however, some relaxations have been offered to the citizens with an objective to ease the day-to-day business. As a part of this, the Chief Minister declared that shops dealing in essential items will be allowed to operate from 7 AM to 3 PM every day.
The Chief Minister also announced that retailers selling items related to house/building repairs, monsoon preparedness, or rain protection & stationary are permitted to function now. After perturbing counts of infections were registered during the onslaught of the second wave, daily case tallies have taken a downward trajectory in Goa. Taking cognisance of this, the curfew policy has been tweaked in the state, eyeing reversal to stability soon.
