In view of the controlled infection rate, the Bombay High Court at Goa allowed fully vaccinated state residents and employees posted there, to enter the territory without a COVID negative report. Reportedly, the bench of judges has permitted the workforce across a range of sectors including labour, manufacturing and industries. In addition to this, the provisions of the order shall be applicable to businessmen in the state and those citizens who have to commute outside Goa for medical or work purposes.

As per reports, it has been stated that all such individuals will be permitted entry into the state only when they show legitimate proof of getting both doses of the vaccine. While the bench has tweaked the protocol partially, it shall also decide over giving similar relaxations for the entry of individuals from other states soon.
Reportedly, an expert group of the Goa administration had suggested that doubly inoculated inter-state commuters should be allowed entry in the state without a negative RT-PCR report. It is noteworthy that the COVID tallies have dipped down significantly in the territory with positivity rate dropping below 5%. Besides, the recovery rate has improved hovering over the 97% mark.

Notably, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Nagaland and Meghalaya have already implemented similar action plans and Punjab is allowing visitors with single-dose too. Mentioning all these points, an application was filed at the judicial authority. Now, the new order has been passed more than two months later after the court clamped the state entry with certain restrictions. As per those instructions, visitors were required to produce a negative report for a test conducted within 72 hours prior to entry.
