One thing that the Covid-19 pandemic has drastically changed is the way people travel. Now, people mostly travel for business purposes and no longer travel for leisure. However, from next month, North Goa's beach shacks are reopening, meaning that this is the perfect time to rekindle your passion for the sandy beaches, the ocean and travelling.

Goa's tourism director, Menino D'Souza recently announced that the tourism department is working to reopen beaches and beachside shacks to visitors starting next month. So, here's all you need to know about the reopening of North Goa beaches.

Candolim, Calangute and Anjuna beach shacks to reopen soon

The move to open beach shacks at Candolim, Calangute and Anjuna beach comes after the decline in tourist visitors owing to the Covid-19 situation. According to reports, the process for sanitizing and inspecting the beach shacks should be complete in just a matter of two weeks.

The Goan Northern belt and beach shacks records almost 7.8 million tourists each year. The winter season is often the prime season to visit Goa, but this time around, travel restrictions were imposed. Interestingly, these beach shacks in the North Goan beaches of Candolim, Calangute and Anjuna beaches were major tourist hotspots, which is why they are once again being reopened.

As for South Goa, the reopening, demarcation, sanitization and inspection could take a little longer, due to lack of man power in the region. A ray of hope for the tourist department in Goa is the upcoming festive season. It is quite likely that people will be willing to step out of thier homes and pay a visit to a beach for a change. Vendors near beaches are hopeful for the festive season.

Another key point to note is that Goa is now open to all. At the peak of the pandemic, every entrant into the state was required to show a negative coronavirus report. Now, however, only the strict precautions must be kept in mind.
