Moving ahead with the agenda of digitisation in Goa, Mormugao Municipal Corporation has decided to turn digital now! This shift from paper to digital interface will first be implemented on important office documents only. Reportedly, an officer of Goa Electronics Limited has been assigned to scan the documents for a smooth transition.

Digital files to be stored on cloud storage

With the renovation work of the MMC building currently underway, this remarkable decision was taken in a meeting headed by the MMC Chairperson Damodar Kaskar. As per officials, the digital files will be stored on cloud storage which is a safe way to store important documents. In addition to this, cloud storage will also ensure that the data remains easy to retrieve as and when needed.

This move by the municipal body in Goa will not only add more transparency in work but also save a lot of time for officials. Moreover, by choosing to go digital, the municipal corporation will save paper, thereby saving trees. As a consequence, this shift will also help the state in its mission to inch closer to becoming more eco-friendly.
