In wake of frequent public complaints about the dilapidated roads in the state, the Goa government has decided to launch an app that'll help people report potholes. Citizens will be able to send in pictures of the potholes, after which quick action will be taken to fix the issue within 98 hours.

Potholes are a major cause of concern, especially during the monsoon season, and this app is here to provide quick solution for the same, with the help of public participation.

Quick fixing of potholes, within 98 hours!

Sharing his vision to fix Goa roads, making them 100% potholes free, PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral reportedly said, "We want to put in a mechanism, where there will be an app in such a way that people will post the photos of potholes, it will reach the contractor and within 98 hours, he will start working on it."

The government, on Thursday cleared the proposal for two agencies who've assured to deliver guaranteed results in 18 months. The ideal goal is to achieve roads with zero potholes in the next one year, the Minister added.

For this, jet patcher machines will be put in action in the North and South Goa districts. "This jet patcher machine can suck the water from potholes and repair the potholes. But it is not possible if there is heavy rain. We are starting this process on a trial basis", Cabral said.

Notably, the state will not buy these, the Minister said. The app will notify the appointed contractor and they will use the said machines to fix the roads.
