With 135 new cases on Tuesady, Goa witnessed a surge in active COVID-19 cases. In the past five days, this is the second-highest daily COVID-19 case count; the highest was 139 on June 18. As per the government data, 104 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours with no COVID-19-related death and one patient being hospitalized.
As the COVID cases in Goa rise, it's high time for the citizens to follow the COVID-19 safety protocol. To prevent yourself and people around you from getting infected by the virus, it is necessary to mask up and get vaccinated (with booster shots, if you are eligible).
Taking simple measures in your daily life can prevent yourself and the people around you from COVID-19 transmission.
Wear a face mask when in public. Make sure you correctly cover your nose, mouth and your chin.
Wash your cloth mask regularly
Do not use disposable mask after using it once
Maintain social distancing of six feet in public
Clean surfaces which are used more often regularly with alcohol-based sanitiser
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap for at least 20 seconds
Use an alcohol-based sanitiser frequently
Isolate yourself if you feel unwell
Most importantly, get your vaccination and booster shots as soon as possible
