World Table Tennis Star Contender series to be held in Goa for the first time

The WTT event is being hosted by Stupa Analytics, a domestic sports analytics firm along with the Goa government.

From international cricket tours and hockey cup tournaments to global-level boxing championships, multiple Indian cities are decked up for the upcoming year to host grand sports events. One such event which has recently been announced is the World Table Tennis (WTT) Star Contender 2023 series, which will be held for the very first time in Goa between February 27 to March 5.

The tournament will be organized at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor stadium inside the Goa University Campus.

The WTT series is a professional table series that is organized under the umbrella of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). The world's best players face off against each other in various category tournaments throughout the year, for the ultimate prize win.

Furthermore, a total of 6 Star Contender tournaments are organized under the WTT series constituting multiple singles and doubles main draw events for both male and female categories.

The upcoming WTT Star Contender tournament in Goa is expected to promote the usability of Indian locations for hosting global-level sports events.
