The arrival of Elon Musk-owned satellite broadband services, Starlink, in India will likely take more than time than anticipated. This is because the company having to seek approvals from the national security agencies and India's Ministry of Home Affairs.

Notably, these approvals are in addition to the nod they have to seek from IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre) and the Telecom Department.

Starlink has already received a green light on the commercial front

It is noteworthy that the Indian Telecom Department has reportedly arrived at an internal decision to greenlight the company. While Starlink has obtained all necessary commercial permissions, the delay has been attributed to security concerns.
