Neeraj Chopra wins second consecutive Diamond League title

India's Olympic Champion Neeraj Chopra is refusing to rest on his laurels, winning his second consecutive Diamond League title on Friday. Chopra clinched the title by throwing his spear to a distance of 87.66m at the event in Switzerland's Lausanne.

Despite normal Monsoon, IMD predicts 'warmer' July

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted the monsoon to remain normal in most parts of the country, excepts some parts in Eastern UP and Bihar. During a press conference, a top IMD official also said that the July downpour will likely make up for June's deficient rainfall.

India's first domestically built nuclear reactor begins operations in Gujarat

The first 'Made in India' nuclear reactor, at the Kakrapar Atomic Power Project in Gujarat begun commercial operations on Friday. As of now, the 700 MW nuclear reactor has started operating at 90% of its total power, according to a senior official at KAPP.

GST collection in India up by 3% in June

India's GST collection in the month of June went up by 3% as compared to the numbers in May, to reach ₹1.61 lakh crore. On an year-over-year basis, the collection has registered an increase of 12%. Higher demand for goods and boost in the service sector has been identified as major reasons.

Over 2 lakh tech employees worldwide laid off in 2023, more than 27k in India

Amid a series of layoffs in tech companies across the country, a whopping 2.12 lakh tech employees have been asked to go in 2023, till now. In India, more than 27k tech employees have been laid off, which also includes some of the biggest names in the sector laying off employees.

Parliament monsoon session to be held between July 20 to August 11

The 2023 Monsoon session of the Parliament will start on July 20 to culminate till August 11. It is noteworthy that this will be the first parliamentary session to be held in the new parliament building. The information was given on Saturday by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister.
