After their triumphant T20 World Cup campaign and a mixed bag of a series against Sri Lanka, the Indian Cricket Team is currently enjoying a break. But as you would expect with one of the world's busiest sporting teams, a lot of action is coming SOON.
The Men in Blue's return to action will commence with Bangladesh's tour of India, which will begin with a two-match home test series. The first test will be played in Chennai from September 19. The two tests in the series will be followed by a 3-match T20I series between the two nations in October.
After the T20 Internationals against Bangladesh, Team India will welcome the New Zealand side for a 2-match Test Series, which will begin from October 16 in Bengaluru.
This brief bilateral test series will be followed by India's tour to South Africa in November. There, the Men in Blue will face South Africa in a 4-match T20 International series, starting from Durban on November 8.
Exactly a week after India's last T20 against South Africa on November 15, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kick off in Perth on November 22. Team India will travel to Australia to play the 4-match test series which, like always, is expected to be a tough test of endurance down under for the squad.
However, if the rest of the season goes well and the squad stays free of major injuries, India will back itself to retain the trophy away from home.
The first piece of cricket action in 2025 for the men in blue will be a home series against England, starting January 22, 2025. This bilateral series will feature 5 T20 Internationals and 3 ODIs. With the ICC Champions Trophy to be held right after this series, it will be the perfect time for the team to hit form.
Team India's action-packed season will end with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, to be held in Pakistan from February 19, 2025 to March 5, 2025. This will be the team's chance to win another ICC trophy after winning the T20 World Cup.
With the tournament being held on the soil of arch-rivals Pakistan, winning this one would be the perfect culmination to the cricketing calendar, wouldn't it?
