Indore's electric bus service, I-Bus, which operates under the BRTS corridor, will soon expand its connectivity to nearby cities. The city transport body, Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL), has decided to introduce these buses on 9 intercity routes.

Additionally, cities within a distance of 54 to 200 kilometers from Indore are being considered for electric bus connectivity.

AICTSL to add 26 I-Buses for intercity commute

At present, AICTSL plans to deploy 26 electric buses across nine routes originating from Indore, with operations starting from the AICTSL campus at Geeta Bhavan. While the exact launch date and specific routes are yet to be finalized, preparations are underway for the commencement of the expanded I-Bus service.

Indore, renowned as the cleanest city in India, introduced I-Buses as part of its city-wide rapid transit system. These emission-free buses significantly reduce pollution within the city. With the introduction of I-Bus connectivity on intercity routes, AICTSL aims to extend its emission-free transport service beyond the city limits, further contributing to environmental sustainability.
