Wednesday was Kargil Vijay Diwas and the BSF unit in Indore decided to remember the famous victory in style. The particular unit organized a weapon exhibition in Indore on Wednesday, at a mall in the city.
Apart from the weapons that were used in the Kargil war, the event also featured performances by BSF Brass Band and The Central School of Weapons and Tactic (CSWT).
The said exhibition of weapons in Indore featured the Destroyer Rifle, 81 mm mortar and 84 mm CGRL, among other weapons used in the Kargil war. The visitors were especially thrilled to see these weapons from up close, as they had till now seen these guns only in movies and TV shows.
It is noteworthy that the Border Security Force (BSF) played a vital role in the Kargil war, alongside the Army. The BSF successfully defended Kaksar, Chennigund, Chorbat La complex, and other crucial high-altitude points. This provided the army with a launchpad to retake lost territory and win the war.
And this weapon exhibition was a celebration of that win and BSF's contribution. As for the visitors, they left feeling a sense of pride. Besides, they also left well-entertained by the heartful performance by the BSF Brass Band and some intense action from the CSWT.
