On Sunday, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare inaugurated the Sub Regional Office and Central Drug Testing Laboratory of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) at GPO Square in Indore. This cutting-edge facility, with a budget of ₹18.5 crore, signifies the eighth central drug testing laboratory nationally and holds the distinction of being the pioneer in Madhya Pradesh.
Virtually, the Health Minister also inaugurated five facilities at AIIMS Bhopal, including a Drone Centre and Dexa Scan. Speaking at the event, he emphasised that the new laboratory in Indore will streamline the approval process for pharmaceutical companies in the state, eliminating the need to go to Delhi.
Highlighting Indore's emergence as a pharmaceutical hub, he also mentioned the development of a Medical Device Park in the city. The event showcased advancements in healthcare, with drones being utilised for medical purposes, including the delivery of medicines to remote areas and facilitating blood sample collection and organ transportation. Medical Education Minister Rajendra Shukla, MP Shankar Lalwani, and other officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
