Currently, all the samples are sent to the lab in Bhopal. Now, that load will be shared by the new food and drug lab in Indore, which will test samples from several districts in the region. There are more than 8 machines being installed at this new lab, coming at a collective cost of ₹3 crore.

Furthermore, the overall construction of the lab has been conducted at the cost of ₹4.33 crore. This new lab will be able to swiftly provide food sample reports within the period of 15 days.

It is noteworthy that the construction of this food and drug testing lab in Indore was supposed to be complete by 2022 itself. But the work was delayed primarily because of the pandemic.
